Synalar Gel reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. Synalar Gel is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by many skin conditions like allergic reactions, eczema, seborrhea, and psoriasis.

Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully. Use Synalar Gel exactly as directed. Synalar Gel is usually applied two to four times a day. Do not apply it to other areas of your body or wrap or use it to treat other skin conditions unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Cover the affected skin area with an even thin film and rub it gently. Your skin condition should improve during the first two weeks of your treatment. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve during this time.

To make sure Synalar gel is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:

• Any skin infection;
• A skin reaction to any steroid medicine;
• Liver disease; or
• An adrenal gland disorder.
• Diabetes.
• If you are expecting or intend to get pregnant. 

Do not use Synalar on a child without medical advice. Children can absorb larger amounts of this medicine through the skin and may be more likely to have side effects.

When Synalar Gel is first applied to the skin, stinging, burning, itching, irritation, dryness, or redness at the application site may happen. Inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately if these effects persist or worsen. 

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe side effects, such as stretch marks, skin discoloration or thinning, acne, excessive or unwanted hair growth, or "hair bumps".

What happens if I overdose on Synalar Gel?

Overuse of Synalar Gel can lead to thinning skin, easy bruising, changes in body fat, increased acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, impotence, or loss of interest in sex.

What should I avoid while using Synalar gel?

Avoid applying Synalar gel to your face, underarms, or groin area.

What other drugs will affect Synalar gel?

Synalar gel used on the skin is not likely affected by other drugs you use. Tell your healthcare providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
